In other news, I've been reading The Name of the Wind at the insistence of a friend of mine, and I gotta say it's pretty damn good..it's been awhile since I've read any proper high fantasy, that wasn't typically found in the Young Adults section..LOL

it has inspired some doodles..

So...Matthew and I decided to go to Al Di La in Park Slope for our 7-11 anniversary. OH MY GOD. IT WAS. SO GOOD. We went all out and had a proper Italian meal, and seriously I haven't eaten that well since we went to Florence...

It was so good infact that we took photos to document the goodness (and also because Matthew got his new sexy camera in the mail)

First....look at the pretty!!!

MOAR NUMMINES )

And now I am quite exhausted, so off to bed with me!

(georgia is sleepy too!)

First, look who I found sleeping in the laundry today!

Due to the Holiday weekend and a comp day earned by some overtime last week, I now have a 5 DAY WEEKEND OMG!! Weds should always be Fris, man...so AWESOME. I am looking forward to this VERY much, because it's been a rough month and PMS is kicking my ass right now and a break will be very very welcome.

Tomorrow my parents are coming in to give me my long promised Birthday present. I've been DYING for a haircut for AGES and back in OCT my mom said she'd take me to the salon of that guy on "What not to Wear" because she LOVES that show, so I said why the hell not! So tomorrow we'll be heading down to Nick Arrojo's Studio to meet David to get my hair did. I am excited, because my hair is so long that it brushes my elbows and freaks me out. Dinner and sightseeing will hopefully follow.

Friday I am HOPING that Matthew can take off to and we can have fun together. The goal for this weekend is to finish our front hall, put up molding, paint and assemble my new desk so that we can take my poor Imac out of it's box and let it BE FREE!

And also I want to see Star Trek or I will cry.

Heres hoping for a productive/relaxing/ happy fun times weekend! Why is it not 6:30 yet?

I hope everyone has a super sweet V-Day!! And thanks so so much to everyone who left V-Day wishes in my Valentine Post Box!! Heeheehee! You guys rock!!

EDIT: OMG! Entertainment weekly named Ron and Hermione as one of Pop Cukture's 26 best fictional couples!! XD DAMN STRAIGHT EW!

Tonight Matthew made reservations for a special dinner at our favorite neighborhood restaurant, The Farm on Adderly. OMG I AM SO EXCITED. Seriously folks, if you live in NYC I HIGHLY recommend coming out to Brooklyn to eat at this place, it is some of the best food we've had in the city...and it's as close to the quality of food we had in Italy as anything we've been able to find in the States... YUM YUM YUM!

Five years ago today Matthew and I said our I dos in a little Sunday School chapel in Ocean Grove NJ...and we haven't looked back since... ;)

For the man that makes me the happiest gal in the world, and gave me the best 5 years of my life....I LOVE YOU! Heres to an eternity more! ;)

And because I am going to be a big ol' sap today, here's the lyrics to our song....the first song Matthew sang to me, and the one I totally fell in love to! XD

"If I Were A Carpenter"
[Written by Tim Hardin]

If I were a carpenter
And you were a lady,
Would you marry me anyway?
Would you have my baby?

If a tinker were my trade
would you still find me,
Carrying the pots I made,
Following behind me.

Save my love through loneliness,
Save my love for sorrow,
I'm given you my onliness,
Come give your tomorrow.

If I worked my hands in wood,
Would you still love me?
Answer me babe, "Yes I would,
I'll put you above me."

If I were a miller
at a mill wheel grinding,
would you miss your color box,
and your soft shoe shining?

If I were a carpenter
and you were a lady,
Would you marry me anyway?
Would you have my baby?
Would you marry anyway?
Would you have my baby?

I can't wait to get home and snuggle that man...XD

So. I saw Wicked last night.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE OMG SO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!!!!! It was AMAZING and fun and beautiful and just..OMG.. Matthew wins a prize for this one. We had the most amazing seats, def. the best I've ever had at a Bway show! RIGHT on the floor, where the two aisles intersect, so there was no one infront of us or to the side...and SO CLOSE! Gah! I will never sit in the Mezz. again if I can help it.

The show itself was gorgeous! OMG The COSTUMES! GUH!! And the Set!!!! Sooooo beautful and fun and imaginative. And the music!! Yum..just yum.

Though, after it all I have to say there are some things I prefered in the book. Elphie for one, B-way Elphine was waaaaay too nice and happy in my opnion. I missed my snarky, brooding, slighty crazy political activist with a bone to pick with the world. I think book!Elphie was a MUCH more complex and interesting character. Also, my Nessa will always be armless and full of white hot religious zeal. And Fieyro is hot, tanned, and blue diamond-ed(though admittedly, rugged pale B-way!Fieyro wasn't hard on the eyes).

Though there are some things I prefered about the play. I really enjoyed the way the musical intergrated itself with the original story of The Wizard of Oz, the explaination of the Tin Man, the Lion and the Scarecrow esp! I really really wish that connection had been used in the book.

In a perfect world I would take the two of them and mix them up to make the perfect "Wicked" ;) Ooooh I want to draw fanarts now!!

God and now I remember how much I adore B-way shows....Matthew has awkened a monster..heehee! Luckily he can get discounts on tix through the Met. Next on my List: Avenue Q!!! XD

Happy Early Valentines Day, y'all!! I hope you have a fun one! As a V-Day treat I thought I'd upload some fluff..cuz nothing says lovin like R/HR! XD

A pencil doodle I started on the subway this evening and finished up in Photoshop....Probably inspired by the Noreasyer we're supposed to get tonight... Goodness it's been awhile since I've drawn these two!

Also, while putzing about I found an R/HR100 doodle that I started last year but never posted. I just couldn't resist finishing it up a bit and posting it for V-Day.. ;) However I will put it behind a cut to spare your FL ;)

SMOOCH!! )

Life has been insane here lately and soon Matthew and I will be off to the Southern lands to celebrate Christmas with his family, but I wanted to drop a quick note to wish you all a Happy Healthy Holiday Season!

May your days be Merry and Bright!!

OOH! And whats this?! Commissions?! Why yes! I know I've been horribly slow, but I have been stealing bits and peices of rare spare time to start chipping away at all the commissions I owe people. I figured I would start by finishing the ones I've already sketched, and then move on down the line. I promise I will get to them all, I haven't forgotten! Don't give up on me yet! ;)

As always, since these pieces are Commissions they CANNOT be iconized, colored or made into layouts! They are the property of the person who paid for them, and myself. Sorry! If you want to iconize, color or make a layout out of a commission you'll have to ask the person I did it for.

DOOD! 7 ARTS! R/HR! D/G! SO MUCH FUN! )

Guess what I got for V-Day? ;D

Heehee! Matthew got me two baby White's Tree Frogs! Aren't they too precious?! I've actually wanted a White's for awhile, in my opinion they are the cutest of all froggies. But I've never been able to find a light green one, only the darker brown. So yesterday we stopped into Petsmart to pick up numnums for our fish and our bullfrogs, and what should we find but a tank of wee bitty baby froglets!! EE!

I have tentitively named them Fred and George, because well..I'm a dork. But that is still subject to change if I find better frog names.. ;)

Fred

George

They currently live in my office, next to Man-Fish's tank (my betta) in their precious little terrarium complete with one of Matthew's Bonsais-in-training. XD

So I'd say V-Day was a success! It was an awesome day! I got my work out of the way early, and suprised Matthew by telling him we were going to visit The Bonsai Club of New England (the hubby is a major bonsai geek and enthustiastic hobbyist). It was SUCH a cool place! They have 8 green houses of some of the most beautiful Bonsai's I've ever seen, and even if you've seen Master bonsais in books, it's NOTHING like seeing them in person, they take your breath away! Matthew got a butt-load of supplies and a mini boxwood to work on, and a membership to the Club as his V-day gift. They offer lessons, and training sessions with master bonsai sculptors from Japan...he is sooo excited! And I am so excited for him!

After that we went to grab some lunch/dinner at the most AMAZING BBQ restaurant in RI. Which was utterly delicious and sooooo satisfying. And when we got home Matthew suprised me with a card and a box of chocolates ontop of everything else! It was such a perfefct day...and such a nice suprise since we really didn't plan on doing anything special at all! Mmmmmnumnum I LOVE my hubby.... :)
