So...Matthew and I decided to go to Al Di La in Park Slope for our 7-11 anniversary. OH MY GOD. IT WAS. SO GOOD. We went all out and had a proper Italian meal, and seriously I haven't eaten that well since we went to Florence...

It was so good infact that we took photos to document the goodness (and also because Matthew got his new sexy camera in the mail)

First....look at the pretty!!!

MOAR NUMMINES )

And now I am quite exhausted, so off to bed with me!

(georgia is sleepy too!)

I am feeling much better now. Have some RL fluff, because I'm disgusting like that.....NOMNOMNOM internet PDA!

Rainy days make working the weekend easier. Also they make for awesome lazy snuggle times... Tonight's entertainment will include; Chinese take out, power watching Weeds S3, and red velvet cupcakes. I swear watching Weeds gives me the munchies. It makes me crave baked goods and cereal like nothing else!

First, look who I found sleeping in the laundry today!

Due to the Holiday weekend and a comp day earned by some overtime last week, I now have a 5 DAY WEEKEND OMG!! Weds should always be Fris, man...so AWESOME. I am looking forward to this VERY much, because it's been a rough month and PMS is kicking my ass right now and a break will be very very welcome.

Tomorrow my parents are coming in to give me my long promised Birthday present. I've been DYING for a haircut for AGES and back in OCT my mom said she'd take me to the salon of that guy on "What not to Wear" because she LOVES that show, so I said why the hell not! So tomorrow we'll be heading down to Nick Arrojo's Studio to meet David to get my hair did. I am excited, because my hair is so long that it brushes my elbows and freaks me out. Dinner and sightseeing will hopefully follow.

Friday I am HOPING that Matthew can take off to and we can have fun together. The goal for this weekend is to finish our front hall, put up molding, paint and assemble my new desk so that we can take my poor Imac out of it's box and let it BE FREE!

And also I want to see Star Trek or I will cry.

Heres hoping for a productive/relaxing/ happy fun times weekend! Why is it not 6:30 yet?

Seth Rogen = Sexy Bastard? Y/Y?

There seems to be some disagreement amongst my friends on this issue. I find him ADORABLE. The more I think about it, the more I think this has a lot to do with the fact that he and Matthew have a lot in common (ie big burly, curly haired, bearded, glasses wearing, casual, laid back, ADORABLY SNUGGLY and funny as hell). Yes, I have a TYPE. ;)

I saw him on Letterman last night and was HORRIFIED to discover that he is 26!! I feel like a dirty old woman now...sigh.... (Also he's lost too much weight! SO MUCH DISAPPOINTMENT!) At least he has his scruffy beard and curly hair back....

What say you FL?? Am I alone in this???

I know I asked this before, but has anyone else stopped getting email notifications of comments and replies? It's driving me nuts trying to remember to go back and check all the threads I posted in to see if I missed anyone's comment. So frustrating! I'm wondering if this is an LJ wide thing or I'm just lucky like that.... ARGH!

In happier news, goin to NJ to doggy sit for the weekend while my parents are out of town...Matthew and I have grand plans of antique shopping, it's been SO LONG since we last got to do that...and while NJ prices aren't New England prices, they're a hell of alot better then NYC prices!

Also also, diet seems to be going well! I'm starting to fit back into shirts and pants that haven't been comfortable for MONTHS (I thought I was going to have to get rid of some of them and buy bigger sizes!) It's not HUGE progress, but it still feels good! Also, since we started eating better, it seems my tummy hasn't been bothering me as much. I used to have horrible problems with sour tummies due to the meds I've been on for the past 25 years :P..Obviously all the overeating carbs and fat weren't doing it any favors either! It's so good to see some results in both a fashion-y aspect AND healthwise, since health really is my main drive this time :)

Sort of belated, but HAPPY VALENTINES YA'LL!!

It's been far too long since I've doodled these two..I've missed them so! XD

I've had this on my comp for awhile, but things have once again gone crazy here. :P ;) V-day was FABULOUS though, we just took it easy and had YUMMY AMAZING DINNER at our favorite neighborhood restaurant. We also started seriously looking into redoing our kitchen, because our kitchen is HORRENDOUS. Of course we never do things small so it's become a whole ordeal of new cabinets and a stove and a dishwasher and TEARING DOWN A WALL. Matthew has grand ideas about doing all of this himself, but I'm still reserving judgment on that. At the moment we're just getting quotes and price shopping (O HAI IKEA!). I am slowly becoming SERIOUSLY EXCITED about the whole mess (and also dreading the whole ordeal) heehee!

In other exciting news, I got an email informing me that two of my pieces have been nominated in the 2009 R/HR AWARDS! "Lost in Translation" for Outstanding Missing Moment Nominees and Outstanding Tearjerker Nominees and "Happy Birthday Ron!" for Outstanding Humor Nominees I am SO FLATTERED GUYS!! Thank you SO MUCH for thinking of me (and sharing in my..ahem..obsession)!!! *BLUSH*

Voting is open til Feb. 28th!! So go check out all the FABULOUS fic and art!!! Fluff is GOOD FOR WHAT AILS YOU!!! XD

It been a rather exciting week, I must say! Tues brought a slew of good things with it indeed. I'm now enjoying my last day of working at home for awhile. I have to admit I'm a little nostalgic about it. It was a great way to recharge my batteries, to spend time with the hubby and doing some work on myself and our house that has been sitting in the back of my mind bugging me for ages. I just hope I can keep this momentum going! I'd like to keep this zen start to the year.

Also, Matthew mentioned last night as I was getting dressed for bed that I looked like I lost weight. I think I've managed to loose about 5 pounds so far, and that thrills me!! This will get harder to keep up once I'm going into the office everyday again and having to eat out in the city for lunch, and get breakfast on the run... I hope that I can keep making the right choices food-wise and keep my weight going in the right direction..at least it means I'll be walking and moving a bit more each day, and I'm sure that will help too!

And obviously I'm still rolling on my Obama high..just look at the awesomeness that he's already accomplished!!

Obama's Executive Order Checklist

It's actually happening people!! I hope they keep up dating the site as he does more stuff, there is just SO MUCH shit that needs to be put back to rights.....

YAY! Keep the good vibes rollin' people!!! XD

Matthew sent me some pictures of an installation thats been driving him and his coworkers MAD at the Met....  A wall of 58 glass panels, 5ft long, stacked over 20 feet high.. It's a portion of the reverse painted glass mural made for the first-class salon of the French ocean liner Normandie This will be the first time the panels have been assembled together since they were on the ship... I can't wait to see them in person, Matthew says they're breath taking....

Once the show opens (it's a bit overdue, at the mo') you can see them in person in the Masterpieces of Modern Design: Selections from the Collection show! YAY ARTS!(heehee and thats Matthew i the first picture..to think this was the man who was deathly afraid of heights!)

Five years ago today Matthew and I said our I dos in a little Sunday School chapel in Ocean Grove NJ...and we haven't looked back since... ;)

For the man that makes me the happiest gal in the world, and gave me the best 5 years of my life....I LOVE YOU! Heres to an eternity more! ;)

And because I am going to be a big ol' sap today, here's the lyrics to our song....the first song Matthew sang to me, and the one I totally fell in love to! XD

"If I Were A Carpenter"
[Written by Tim Hardin]

If I were a carpenter
And you were a lady,
Would you marry me anyway?
Would you have my baby?

If a tinker were my trade
would you still find me,
Carrying the pots I made,
Following behind me.

Save my love through loneliness,
Save my love for sorrow,
I'm given you my onliness,
Come give your tomorrow.

If I worked my hands in wood,
Would you still love me?
Answer me babe, "Yes I would,
I'll put you above me."

If I were a miller
at a mill wheel grinding,
would you miss your color box,
and your soft shoe shining?

If I were a carpenter
and you were a lady,
Would you marry me anyway?
Would you have my baby?
Would you marry anyway?
Would you have my baby?

I can't wait to get home and snuggle that man...XD

AAAAAH! OMG!

I just received an email from Matthew informing me that he got to meet Frank Stella today and has been helping him install and repair some of his sculptures for his upcoming show at the Met! Apparently he's a really sweet quite old man, and has been more then willing to talk to Matthew about his art and his techniques and OMG!!!! I KNOW Matthew is geeking out HARD CORE, and I am geeking by association!! EEEEE!

I am SO PISSED that I might miss the opening for this show on Mon. I want to meet famous artist types! The last time I couldn't come to an opening I missed getting to meet Christo and Jeane Claude!

OMFG NYC is SO EXCITING! XDDDDD

I realized the other day that Matthew and I hardly have ANY photos documenting our time in the Big City. So in order to rectify this, I created a Flickr account tonight. Perhaps if we have a way to share our pics with friends and family, we'll take more pics! LOL! Also, I've discovered Flickr is TONS easier then me uploading photos to my own web space and linking them here...

SO if anyone wants to see some photos of our adventures since we moved to NYC..Check it out!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/lberghol/

Also got some photos of the super swank Met Opening Party we attended this week to celebrate the Opening of the Greek and Roman Wing (it is AMAZING folks, if you are in the NYC area you should DEF. check it out!)

Happy Weekend Everybody!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! SO EXCITED! On April 28th and 29th the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens is having a huge Cherry Blossom Festival, the Sakura Matsuri. Those who know what a huge Japan-o-phile I am will also know how freakin' excited I am that this will be going on a few blocks from my Apartment! EEEEE! I cannot wait!

EDIT: ZOMG!!!  The Reptile Expo is actually on the 22nd!!! YAY!  Now I can go see the Kimono show and be a great big giant DORK!  HURRAH!

Sadly, I am going to miss the kimono fashion show! I am sooooo disappointed, I REALLY wanted to see that! But I have already promised Matthew that we would go to a huge Reptile Expo (heehee we're Herp dorks) in White Plains on Sat. and I doubt we'd be home in time.

Ooooo Cherry Blossoms and Reptiles in one weekend!! I can't wait! XD

Also, OMFG YAY IT'S FRIDAY! YAY WEEKEND! XD

Goodness..it's been so long since I animated anything...almost a year actually. O.o I've forgotten how long it takes! LOL! Compared to my usual rate on Storyboards, I feel like I'm moving at a snails pace (even tho I'm actually nearly keeping up with my old animating rate).

But Dancing Monkies are tons o' fun, so I cannot complain. This project has actually been a much needed breath of fresh air. I forgot how fun animation can be! :)

In other news, saw the new Dr. Who on Sun. SO MUCH LOVE! Martha ain't no Rose, but as long as we're all clear on that I think I can deal. Also..YAY for Doctor/Rose angst, I just eat it up..I'm such an OTP dork... :P;)

sleeeeeeeeeeepies now...... *goes to pounce Matthew* XD

Goodness I am getting tired of these "I'm still alive" posts. I apologize guys. Really I feel like I need to get back into the habit of writing, it's just I think I'd get equally tired of "ZOMG! Life is crazy! Work is crazy!" entries. It's amazing how moving to the city kinda ate up my freetime. I'm not complaining really, I loooooove it here. And it's not ALL work, I do indeed go out and do things with friends and go exploring and have big city adventures. I'm just not used to having so much stuff to do! LOL!

Work is insane, but I suppose I've kinda gotten used to it. Kappa boarding is coming to an end soon, and I have been informed that I will be rolling onto boards on another project immediately afterwards, so YAY for continued employment (not always an easy thing to come by in this industry). Also picking up some freelance from beloved old S2N, which looks like it will be alot of fun, and a breath of fresh air. Not to mention, more money = Yay!

In other news, Matthew is rockin the Met. I attended another opening party last night for one of his shows and it was tons of fun. The show was beautiful (Venice and the Islamic World, for those who are curious), and it's always just fun to get dressed up with our friends and wander around the Temple of Dendur sipping drinks and snacking on caviar..LOL! Also, down in his work room I got to hold an ancient Roman glass head, some beautiful Egyptian Fiance and get as close to a Fra Angelico icon as I am ever going to get, ie. I poked it with a (gloved)finger..heehee!

And as far as my current obsessions go, I thought I should announce that I am in love with Steven Merchant. I have been obsessively listening to Rick Gervais's Podcast and am convinced that he is the funniest man alive. Granted the whole show is GENIUS, and I continuosly embarass myself by laughing my ass off randomly while I work (as [info]jigglykat will tell you.. LOL) Also it doesn't help that Matthew and I have been watching both versions of The Office and Extras, so I am thoroughly convinced that Ricky and Steve are BRILLIANT writers, but for some reason Steve just stands out to me as the brains behind the opperation....

And ALSO ALSO The 3rd season of DR. WHO starts on Sat. Am VERY MUCH looking forward to the Who Party at [info]jigglykat's. SO MUCH SQUEEING will occur!

And ALSO ALSO ALSO....Deathly Hallows Book cover! OOOOOOO! Am I a bad fan to say I'm underwhelmed? I suppose I was hoping for a bit more drama. I mean, at least the Brit version had Ron and Hermione on the cover, granted they looked WONKY AS HELL but Whatevs... Am looking forward to the Finland cover cuz I am a fan of odd geometric lil Harry...

And LASTLY I drewed an old lady....just so no one thinks my hands have fallen off...

So. I saw Wicked last night.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE OMG SO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!!!!! It was AMAZING and fun and beautiful and just..OMG.. Matthew wins a prize for this one. We had the most amazing seats, def. the best I've ever had at a Bway show! RIGHT on the floor, where the two aisles intersect, so there was no one infront of us or to the side...and SO CLOSE! Gah! I will never sit in the Mezz. again if I can help it.

The show itself was gorgeous! OMG The COSTUMES! GUH!! And the Set!!!! Sooooo beautful and fun and imaginative. And the music!! Yum..just yum.

Though, after it all I have to say there are some things I prefered in the book. Elphie for one, B-way Elphine was waaaaay too nice and happy in my opnion. I missed my snarky, brooding, slighty crazy political activist with a bone to pick with the world. I think book!Elphie was a MUCH more complex and interesting character. Also, my Nessa will always be armless and full of white hot religious zeal. And Fieyro is hot, tanned, and blue diamond-ed(though admittedly, rugged pale B-way!Fieyro wasn't hard on the eyes).

Though there are some things I prefered about the play. I really enjoyed the way the musical intergrated itself with the original story of The Wizard of Oz, the explaination of the Tin Man, the Lion and the Scarecrow esp! I really really wish that connection had been used in the book.

In a perfect world I would take the two of them and mix them up to make the perfect "Wicked" ;) Ooooh I want to draw fanarts now!!

God and now I remember how much I adore B-way shows....Matthew has awkened a monster..heehee! Luckily he can get discounts on tix through the Met. Next on my List: Avenue Q!!! XD

Weekend awesomeness = acomplished!

Matthew and I spent WAY TO MUCH MONEY on fancy duds for the Party on Monday. It's been a long long time since we had any need for "formal wear"..like maybe..since our own wedding 4 years ago..LOL! So I figured it was overdue. Matthew bought a brown suit, and he looks handsome in it....also it tickles my inner geek that he sorta kida looks Dr. Who-y in it (alas! He would not try on the brown and blue pinstriped ones I found for him, no matter how I begged! ;)) I spent an equal amount on my ensamble..which shockingly includes a tube-top type device (NOT as trashy as it sounds, believe me) I never in my life thought I would own a tube-top! Apparently through the magic of Lane Bryant all things are possible. ;) I also now have a black velvet jacket that is fuzzy and soft and sexxay as hell..it will also look kickass with jeans so I figure I'll get my money's worth out of it.

Hopefully we'll be able to snap some pictures tomorrow as we rub elbows with NYC's upper crust and eat expensive small foods off of silver trays...

I'm actually a lil nervous! LOL!

Also, in a period of 24hours Matthew has managed to instill in me an overwhelming desire to purchase a Wii. OMG I WANT ONE! They look sooo awesome! And I can download all my fave old SNES and NES games!! EEEEE! The nostalgia is intoxicating...on Friday I didn't even know what a Wii was, and today we're running all around NYC to find one (sold out alas! and the Nintendo store had lines around the block...CRAZY!)

ALSO! 3 DAY WEEK! 4 DAY WEEKEND! FOOD! FUN! MOVIES! YAAAAAAAAAAAAY! This is offically looking to be the best week evar in like..forevars... ;

ZOMG!!!!!!!!! How excited am I that the OotP trailer comes out today?!?!?!? SO EXCITED!!!!!!!! XD I wish they would hurry up and put it on teh internets! WANNA SEE! I have a feeling that this will light a fire under my bum to make some artings.... I haven't drawn anything outside of work since the month long sickness of DOOM. I'm almost afraid to put pencil to paper again..SO RUSTY!

Other things that I am excited about:

~ I have a FREE WEEKEND this weekend..which would be the first time I've had two free weekends in a row since I started my job here in NYC...yea..that is as depressing as it sounds. But YAY WEEKEND!

~ Next weekend is a FOUR DAY WEEKEND. Which, I am absolutely thrilled for, as you can imagine ;) YAY HOLIDAYS!

~ Matthew has his first Opening at the Met on Mon. ZOMG! Posh Party! I need to find me some nice formal-ish wear STAT! And if anybody is in NYC, feel free to stop by the Met and check out the Louis Comfort Tiffany and Laurelton Hall—An Artist’s Country Estate SO many pretty objects! And yes, Matthew's dept built all the mounts and installed most of the show...hee! *dorks*

Also, I feel I should mention that [info]jigglykat and [info]valmontgod have gotten me HORRIBLY addicted to Dr. Who. Doctors 9 and 10 in particular. And now I have a brand new OTP (Doctor/Rose) to squee and dork and read fluffy fanfic about.... They are alomost up there with Ron and Hermione....almost. Ah, yes. I do so love fanatic dorkery

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! Matthew got the job at the Met!! OMG!!! XDDDD He JUST got the call about an hour ago!

For those who mights missed it...last month a friend of ours who works in the Conservation Dept at the Metropolitan Museum asked Matthew if he would be interested in applying for an opening in her dept. Basically the job involves designing and building mounts for objects in the museum's collection. You get to handle national treasures on a daily basis, the next big show that is comming through will be the huge King Tut exhibit that is touring the country...Matthew will get to rummage though Tut's things! OMG! I just can't believe it!

Not to mention the pay is pretty awesome, theres a 401k...it comes with FULL HEALTH BENEFITS for Matthew AND ME! OMG!!! THAT is the part that has me squeeing. Matthew's benefits will kick in before mine, which means we can boot our $900/mo. Cobra payment earlier then expected....OMG Finacial and health security....it is a beautiful beautiful thing. (I am such a grown up)

And another cool thing about Matthew's job? He gets to travel! You can sign up to escort peices from the museum's collection when they go on tour. Our friend just returned from an all expenses paid trip to Moscow, where she was escorting 5 of the Met's Rembrant paintings.

Dood. I wish my job was that awesome.
